| CBC Now 40 Members Strong
The California Biodiversity Council was delighted to meet in Pasadena for the first time with the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) at their 108th Annual Meeting. Along with the robust discussions about creating environmental and economic infrastructure for local government, and Local Agency Formation Commissions, the CBC was pleased to announce that CSAC elected to become the CBC’s 40th member. The primary purpose of CSAC is to represent county government before the California Legislature, administrative agencies, and the federal government. CSAC places a strong emphasis on educating the public about the value and need for county programs and services. The five regional associations of county supervisors have been members of the CBC for many years and the Regional Council of Rural Counties likewise became a member shortly after the Council was formed in 1991. So the CBC is most pleased that CSAC elected to become a member as well. For several years now, the Biodiversity Council has followed the theme of “strengthening ties with local and tribal governments.” Having CSAC at the table will reinforce the Council’s ability to do that.
