LUPIN Wins Planning Award

LUPIN, the state's comprehensive on-line data base for land-use planning documents, was awarded the Innovative Use of Technology award by the American Planning Association June 19 in Sacramento.

"LUPIN has pioneered the distribution of California land-use planning documents on-line," Secretary for Resources Doug Wheeler said. "LUPIN's innovation enables working planners and the public to instantly access a wide array of information that previously had to be mailed or researched in person."

The Land Use Planning Information Network -- LUPIN -- was created by the California Resources Agency and is on-line at: http://ceres.ca.gov/planning

LUPIN, a component of CERES -- the on-line California Environmental Resources Evaluation System of the Resources Agency, includes county general plans and zoning ordinances, habitat conservation plans, local coastal plans, city general plans, local permitting information, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines, regional plans, lists of experts and liaisons, planning publications, special status species information, the Coastal Act, Williamson Act, Forest Practice Act, California Endangered Species Act, demographics, maps, and photo images.

New information is being added to LUPIN regularly.
